My story

From the mogul course to your windows.

I'm Hugh. I'm a mogul skier chasing the 2030 Winter Olympics, and I fund every part of it by cleaning windows across Sydney. When you book Summit Shine, you're not just getting clean windows. You're backing a local athlete.

Why windows?

Chasing the Olympics costs a lot: coaching, travel, entry fees, and months overseas every year. I support myself completely, and I don't spend money on anything except skiing. So I needed work that pays properly, fits around my seasons, and rewards doing things right.

I've been cleaning windows for over three years and running Summit Shine for over a year. It turns out the two jobs have a lot in common. In moguls, judges score every turn, so you can't get lazy on a single one. Windows are the same: one streak is all anyone sees. Precision, consistency and pride in the details are what I train for, and it's how I clean.

That's also why I do every job myself. No subcontractors, ever. My name and my reputation are on every window.

My year

Two winters, two window seasons

  1. May to June

    Windows in Sydney

Autumn window season on the North Shore and Eastern Suburbs.

  2. Late June to mid-September

    Australian winter

Training and competing with the Aus Mogul Ski Club (AUSMSC).

  3. Mid-September to November

    Windows in Sydney

Spring window season. The busiest time of my year.

  4. December to April

    Northern winter

Training and competing in Colorado with the Winter Park Competition Center.

Results so far

Climbing the rankings, one run at a time.

  • Top 7 mogul skier in Australia
  • ~130th in the FIS world ranking
  • 11th at the 2025 ABOM Mogul Challenge, Mt Buller, in a field including Olympic silver medallist Matt Graham and skiers from Japan
  • 7th at a regional competition at Copper Mountain, Colorado
  • 2026 raced the US National Championships at Palisades Tahoe
  • Since 2022 competing on the Australia New Zealand Cup circuit

The goal hasn't changed since day one: the 2030 Winter Olympics, and I won't stop until I've won gold.
